Sparrow Tea - The Fusion of Mahjong and Tea Culture
Background:
Chinese mahjong is a popular form of social entertainment known for its joy and passion. In the realm of Chinese culture, the beloved
game of mahjong and the cherished tradition of tea have long been intertwined.
However, the rise of bubble tea in recent years has brought concerns about its health implications. Many bubble tea shops prioritize cost and convenience over quality, using unhealthy ingredients and excessive sugar.
The sparrow icon pays homage to the rich Mahjong culture while adding a touch of nature's grace and invigorating vitality to the brand identity.
Project Objective:
The goal is to create a healthy bubble tea brand that seamlessly blends the rich heritage of mahjong and traditional tea culture, incorporating a design style that combines both traditional and modern elements.
The color palette of Sparrow Tea embraces the traditional hues of red, blue, and green, which hold cultural significance.
The visual concept draws inspiration from the iconic 'YiTong' (one-dot) tile in Mahjong, infusing the essence of cultural richness and tradition. The design combines the visual elements of the one-dot tile with the graceful shape of the sparrow's eye and the organic form of a tea leaf.
This fusion creates a harmonious design that pays homage to the symbolic significance of Mahjong and the sparrow in Chinese culture.
